Cooking with a local flavour
Local Food for Local Press
By Philippe Blais, Rural Affairs Contributer;
Cooking and eating go hand in hand with the Christmas season. Lynn Ogryzlo authored a cookbook tittled Niagara Cooks which inspires the use and consumption of local products. Because of the authors tenacity, the book was successfully printed here in Canada, rather then offshore.
Judy Creighton of the The Canadian Press wrote: “Lynn Ogryzlo's book Niagara Cooks was turned down by mainstream Canadian publishers who had little interest in a community message, she explains. Finally, small Toronto publisher Epulum took on the project but, at the last minute, it was discovered the book was to be printed outside of the country, she says.”
Thanks to local Niagara businesses, the book was eventually printed here in Canada.
