Local Business Recognized for Industrial Award

Guelph, Ontario, June 26th, 2009 – Energrow Inc. was awarded the President’s Industrial Innovation Award at the 10th annual Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala held at the Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre on Thursday, June 25. The award was part of a set of community based business and volunteer awards set out to recognize individuals, groups, or businesses that have contributed to the enhancement of our local communities. The awards covered a diverse number of business sectors (including agricultural, financial, retail, sciences. etc.).

The Guelph Chamber of Commerce President’s Award recognized Energrow’s contribution to the agricultural community with the innovative design of their custom farm-scale oilseed presses and complementary technologies. “Energrow demonstrates innovative development and implementation of new technologies in their operation and in its product offerings. Its broad application technology is unique” said Lloyd Longfield, CAO and President of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce who presented Energrow with it’s award.

Energrow is an agribusiness based in Newton, Ontario, that designs and locally manufactures farm-scale oil presses and pressing systems. These value-adding systems can be integrated directly on the farm and allow farmers a chance at “feed, fuel, and freedom,” as their company slogan highlights. The press produces two bioproducts: a pelletized meal (a high-energy nutrient rich feed) and vegetable oil, a product which has a wide range of uses including: feed, crop spray surfactant, lubrication, cooking oil and even as a biofuel for diesel engines.

Energrow demo oil pressing systems have been installed on farms around Ontario and are working successfully with more planned. “Energrow is offering significant value for micro power generation and savings and revenue from farm produced feed and fuel……truly amazing,” said Longfield.

With an ambitious goal of revolutionizing the farming industry, owner Jasmin Hofer, a farmer herself, states: “every farmer should have the chance to add the maximum value to their own seed, Energrow is here to make sure that happens.”
