Surfing the news as we so often do, we found an article in which three farmers' markets in the Maritimes have been recognized as among the top 10 in the country by Canadian Geographic magazine. The magazine published its list of the top 10 farmers' markets in its May 2009 edition.

Another article on the subject appeared appeared on cbc.ca, quoting the Canadian Geographic article. The article generated some passionate comments from all camps.

We want to know! From Victoria to Halifax and from Windsor to as far north as Whitehorse, Farmers' markets can be found in all their colours and flavours; All as distinctive as their locations around this great country.

For the past year, the BuyFromTheFarm.ca team has scoured the country to locate all these unique locations. We have spoken, sometimes at length with some of the vendors, farmers and market managers, who all believe that their market is the best. They are proud of what they do, and rightly so.

We have no doubt that such a market is near and dear to your hearts, maybe in your own neighbourhood, with its own charm and appeal. We want to hear about it.
