What are you thinking

Many Canadians waited all weekend to hear: "maybe I will" or "maybe I won’t". That pretty much sums up the Liberals' announcement made yesterday. I don’t know if the NDPs know something the rest of us don’t, but I am hearing that they are out trying to gather funds for an election run. Maybe this is just in case. I don’t know. Right now the parties in opposition sound like a group of younger brothers saying: "go ahead, push me --I dare you, nah nah nah nah." I don’t know if their pollsters have given them extra confidence that they can do it this time or what, but nobody seems to realize there is not a whole lot of interest in another election.

I am getting the idea that this is all about not wanting to believe the conservatives got back in, and nothing to do with actually running the country better. If they hold all the power on their side of the floor why not actually do something for the country, like maybe pass some legislation that would benefit Canadians?

From what I am seeing, the only thing these 3 groups (the NDP, Liberal and Bloq) can agree on is to cause an other election. If they have all these votes, and they can work together, why not keep things as is? My fear is that, if we have an election, things won’t change very much and we will be back in election mode again next year.

So I guess what the opposition parties are telling us is that, as Canadians we need to all pick one party to vote for so we can actually quit wasting money and get something done. I hope there is an election and we wind up with people who are happy just representing the people who put them their, instead of chasing delusions of grandeur. If the opposition parties push this, it will be the rural equivalent of "Hold My Beer and Watch This".
